3

What warranties apply?

A 10 year structural guarantee applies to the frame while internal fixtures have a                      12 month warranty.

If something is broken in transit or doesn’t work upon delivery, how can I have it repaired or replaced?

When the house is delivered to site it is advisable to engage a builder to install the home and at the same time to make any necessary adjustments arising from movements during transportation. Our modular homes are strengthened for shipping and transportation and port handling. However, it is possible that minor defects may occur during transit (such as cracks in internal walls or marks on external cladding during port handling and transportation). We provide putty and touch up paint to rectify these minor defects. Please note that these minor defects are not included in the warranty.  Most of these can be rectified with minimal effort by the builder or a competent tradesperson. In the unlikely event that something more serious occurs, please contact us. If anything is damaged during transit, please send particulars to us within 7 days of delivery along with photographs and any comments from the builder.

4

What countries do you ship to?

Our pods can be supplied to any country that has a port capable of handling shipping containers. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure the homes are suitable for the purpose and comply with any relevant local building standards.

5

Installation

It’s recommended to contact a local builder to install or assist with the installation. The extent of site preparation, including foundations and installation will depend upon onsite conditions. Normal services (water, power and sewage) will be required and purchasers are advised to make these arrangements prior to delivery of the home. It is also important that suitable access be available for a truck and crane. Upon purchase a detailed installation guide will be sent.

Please note the modulars cannot be positioned directly on the ground. When delivered the home should be either installed immediately or placed on blocks to allow air circulation underneath. If placed on the ground, moisture can be absorbed through the flooring and possibly create condensation issues.

6

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs fluctuate daily and depends on the destination. To obtain an accurate quote please contact your local shipping agent. You’ll also need to get a quote for trucking freight to transport the home from port to site.

7

How long does it take to build?

On average we can complete a 40ft modular home within 8 weeks. However, production time varies according to the variations selected, local regulation requirements and quantity. The anticipated production time and shipment for your home will be advised prior to ordering.

8

How are the homes transported?

Our homes are built to international standard sizes for shipping containers so they can be shipped worldwide and transported within destination countries by road and in some cases, by rail. The homes are shipped to the nearest major port then transported to site. Purchasers will need to have made prior arrangements for transport and a crane to be on hand when the home arrives to offload and position the home. Loose components in the pod will be packed and secured for safety. Glass doors and windows are protected with thick ply wood.

9

Do you build to my local regulations/laws?

Yes, we build all our homes to your local standards. Since there are thousands of different codes and regulations across the world we’ll need you to organize with a local builder a list of your codes and regulations prior to production.

10

Can I customise my order?

For individual orders we’re unable to customize. For multiple residential orders and commercial projects we can customize to your needs.

11

Are these homes suited for cold climates?

Yes, although additional measures will be necessary to cater for the internal / external temperature differences to avoid issues relating to condensation. For cool climates, it is recommended that an energy recovery system be installed. Additional upgrades included triple glazing to windows and external glass doors together with heavy duty insulation.

12

Are the homes fire, earthquake & termite rated?

Our homes have an extremely high tolerance to fire and earthquakes.  As the homes are steel framed, elevated and without any structural timber in the construction, the homes are termite resistant. The exposed steel piers also provide a means of visual inspection to check for any bridging by termites.
